Get the official installer for your OS

Windows

  1. Download the installer (.exe) file from the Downloads page.
  2. Double-click the file to run the installer.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Screention will launch automatically and dock into your system tray.

macOS

  1. Download the disk image (.dmg) file.
  2. Open the .dmg file.
  3. Drag the Screention app into your Applications folder.
  4. Launch Screention from Applications or Spotlight.
Screen Recording Permission: On first launch, macOS requires Screen Recording permission under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording. Ensure Screention is checked.

Linux

We offer multiple installation options for Linux distributions. Run this single command in your terminal to automatically detect your architecture (amd64 / arm64), fetch the latest release, install the .deb package, and configure sandbox permissions:

Method 2: Manual DEB Installation (Ubuntu / Debian / Mint)

If you prefer to download and install the .deb package manually, run this one-line command to install the package, resolve dependencies, and configure required permissions:

Updates

Screention automatically checks for updates in the background. When a new version is released, you will receive a notification to update seamlessly.
