# Gallery Management

> Organize and manage your captured screenshots

All saved screenshots are stored locally in your gallery.

## Accessing the Gallery

Open the main window by clicking the tray icon or launching the app. The **Gallery** tab is the default view.

## Features

### 1. Chronological View

Images are sorted by date, with the newest captures at the top. The new filename format (`11-jan-2026 08-16-35 am.png`) makes it easy to read when a screenshot was taken.

### 2. Search

Use the search bar at the top to filter images by:

* Filename
* Description/Note content

### 3. Managing Images

Hover over any image card to reveal action buttons:

* **Copy**: Copy the image to clipboard again.
* **Edit Note**: Add a multi-line description to search for later.
* **Rename**: Change the filename.
* **Delete**: Remove the image permanently.

### 4. Bulk Actions

*(Coming in v0.5.0)*
Multi-select capability is currently in development to allow you to delete or move multiple images at once.

## File Storage

Your images are stored safely on your local disk:

* **Directory:** `~/.screention/screenshots/`
* **Format:** PNG

You can click the "Open Folder" button in the sidebar to view the files directly in your system's file explorer.
